Jacksonville Faith Leaders Gather At Senator Rubio’s Office To Reject Immoral Tax Bill

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- On Tuesday, November 28th at 11:00 a.m., clergy and community leaders will gather to call on Senators Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson to reject the Senate tax plan. The tax plan currently being pushed through Congress by Republicans could cause 873,000 Floridians to lose health care, a $1.5 trillion national deficit increase, and cuts to programs that help poor and working Americans, children and seniors.

According to many in Jacksonville’s faith community, the tax plan is immoral because it “comforts the comfortable” while further broadening the gap across economic and racial lines.

WHAT:
Faith leaders call on Senators Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson to reject Senate tax bill based on religious values.

WHEN:
Tuesday, November 28, at 11:00 a.m.

WHERE:

Hemming Park stage across from Sen. Rubio’s office
300 N. Hogan St.
Jacksonville, FL  32202

Pastor R.L. Gundy, African American Ministers In Action, People For the American Way
